Baby Girl is 5 Months!
It feels like overnight Laura has gone from a little baby to this animated, opinionated and ever smiley baby girl. She charms everyone she meets with her radiant smile and she's quite ticklish, which is quite fun for Mommy and Daddy as it's an easy way to hear her darling giggle. It's starting to sound like Laura may be a talker like her Mommy and big brother. She's always telling us something.
She's started eating rice cereal this past week and loves sitting in her Bumbo chair and joining us while we eat our meals. She has remained true to her food-indifferent-self in that she could take it or leave it. I would say half goes down and the other half she spits out. We're working on it. She is SUCH a different eater than her brother. She also fights most naps. I don't think I ever used the glider with Will but with Laura we use it often. Our bubbly girl does not want to miss a moment of the activity around her.
Laura is really starting to pump those legs while on her belly and so wants to be mobile, and I am so not ready for it. She is super proud to roll from her belly to her back and she has rolled from back to front one time. Most of the time she goes from her back to her side and hangs out there sliding her head around trying to look at what her brother is doing. She is quite taken with Will. I catch them "playing" together from time to time, meaning Will comes over and shows her some toys or starts talking to her about who knows what. Sometimes when he is doing his own thing she will try to stare him down and when he doesn't look her way she starts grunting and gets increasingly louder to get his attention. It's pretty cute. It blesses my heart to watch them have those sweet moments.
She is a classic, laid back second child. Nathan keeps saying she has his personality. Ha! She's just happy to be around. She is starting to get a little more opinionated and let's you know when she's done with one thing and ready for the next. Most of the time she grunts to communicate which is pretty funny.
We absolutely delight in our sweet girl and are trying to hold tight to every moment of this special time as it is flying by way too fast.
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." ~Psalm 37:4
