Apple Picking
We drove out to Markham, VA today to Stribling Orchard for a fun day of apple picking and the celebration of a friend's birthday. We packed a picnic, grabbed a blanket and made our way out toward the Shenandoahs. It was the perfect Fall day as we experienced the refreshing that comes from getting out of town and being near the mountains.
We went to the same orchard last year when Will was just a little guy, so going back this year was a whole new experience. He had so much fun running around, playing with the other kids, picking apples and most importantly eating apples. Once he figured out what he was doing, he had no desire to put them in a bag to pay and eat later. He wanted to eat his apples now! It was pretty cute. We'll teach him about apple picking etiquette next year. Don't worry - we bought stuff in the Harvest House to make up for the apples will commandeered throughout the day.
We dressed him for the occasion. It seemed fitting for our little guy to wear his overalls while out picking apples.
