Ocean Isle 2010
We went with our good friends from Atlanta that we went with last year. It was another great trip with amazing views, nights of laughter and much relaxing. Our kids enjoy playing together, well as much as two two year olds can, which makes the whole thing that much more pleasant. We went out to our favorite restaurant on the island the first night but after that we ate in most of the time. We had picnic lunches on the beach every day but one and feasts for dinner like low country boil and crab and corn bisque. Yummy! One day we drove in to Myrtle Beach to check it out. We walked some of the boardwalk (it was really too hot for the kiddos so that didn't last long), played in the boardwalk arcade and then we had a yummy lunch at the restaurant on Pier 14 out over the water. It was really fun! Myrtle Beach was much more populated and touristy than Ocean Isle, so all of us quickly started longing to go back to the stillness and peace of our island.
We did family pictures one night which went as well as can be expected with two toddlers. We had been going down to the beach after dinner for the kids to play in the sand and waves so Will thought that was what we were doing that evening too. He had no interest in sitting still and smiling at the camera. He wanted to play, which meant run directly into the water and get his outfit wet quickly followed by a roll in the sand. Audrey did a little better, but I think we took enough that we got a few good ones out of the multitudes. Did I mention I took over 800 pictures? Yea. That's right.
That's enough ramblings. I wish we were still there. I felt like it took us half the week to unwind and then the last few days flew by. Now we're back to the normal routine. Speaking of, Will's up from his nap and wanting some relief. I better run. Enjoy the pictures. Be sure to check out the blog entry below this one for beach pictures specifically of Will. I tried to break it up a little so your eyes don't cross. Ha!
Sweet Audrey

Enough of this playing sweet stuff, let's run for the water!

Audrey brought her baby doll and Will showed a surprising great interest in it. We have been reading a book about being a big brother and he likes the page about feeding the baby a bottle. As you can see here, we have a little work to do on the proper caring and feeding of a baby.
Will and Audrey both thought it would be fun to be stickers on my baby belly. It was pretty funny.

The four of us. You have no idea how many pictures we took to get a few good ones. Will was not interested in the slightest and made a bee line for the ocean at every opportunity.

Relaxing with Daddy
We drove into Myrtle Beach one day to see the boardwalk and have lunch. It was HOT.
Drive home from Myrtle Beach.
All of us - getting a picture of all six (it's actually eight) of us looking at the camera was quite an adventure in and of itself but we finally got one
