Go Navy, Beat UMass!
One of the good things about living near DC is how close we are to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, MD. Annapolis is one of the prettiest and most charming cities I've seen in the States and USNA is a very interesting place to visit as well. The old buildings and history of the school truly take you to another place and time.
As most of you know, that is Nate's alma mater so we are able to catch some football games and share the Navy pride with other alumni. It's also a chance for us to meet up with some of his old friends who you run into just about everywhere in this city between the military bases, the Pentagon and USNA not far away. To prove my point, while the Midshipmen were doing their march on (for those of you who are unfamiliar with Navy football this is when all the midshipmen from Freshman to Seniors march from "the Yard," what the rest of us call campus, over to the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in formation and dressed in whites) so like I was saying while the Mids were doing the march on one of Nate's buddy's from his days at USNA marched by as the Company Commanding Officer. Small world seeing as Nate has known this guy for 14 years but hasn't spoken with him in almost 5.
It was super hot and we both have the sunburn to prove it but we had a blast! Go Navy!
The beginning of March On. All the kids throw candy at the Mids - it's great fun:
