Six Months!!!!

Our beautiful Laura Elizabeth is six months old. Seriously! We can't believe it and don't quite know where the time has gone. My newborn baby girl is now sitting up for short moments all on her own and is so proud of herself when she does. Laura can't roll back to front yet and when on her belly pushed up she can't figure out how to get the crawling thing going SO she flips on her back and starts doing arches with it and inches (seriously like an inch worm) her way to whatever she is aiming for. She's trying desparately to be mobile because she wants to be wherever her brother is and have whatever it is he has in his hands. She is really interested in Will's snacks. She has leapt, unexpectedly, off my lap twice trying to get to his snack cup. I'm not quite sure what she thinks is in there but she seems conviced it's better than the baby food she's currently eating. The other sweet thing she's starting to do is reach for us. If you're holding her she will stretch out those chubby hands and grab our faces. If you're lucky she'll lean in for a big, wet smacker. She's into giving kisses these days. She will also reach out for us a little when we're walking towards her. Love the recognition and expectation.

We had her six month appointment this week and she is trending similarly to her big brother. No petite babies here!!! She is currently 28 1/4th inches long placing her in the 95th percentile for height. She weighs 19 pounds 1 ounce which puts her in the 90th percentile. Perfect and proportionate in every way. The new doctor did laugh as he told me she's the size of a 9-10 month old. I smiled, nodded my head and said, "that's how we grow them around here." It's tough sometimes because I want my baby to stay tiny as long as possible but she's bound and determined to grow. I keep telling her to stop it but she's not listening. She's trying to hard to catch up with that big brother of hers that she adores so much.
